SPESA (Sewn Products Equipment & Suppliers of the Americas), an industry association for suppliers to the sewn products industry, has several in-person events on tap for the second half of the year and beyond.
“After a year of virtual meetings, SPESA is thrilled to once again welcome our members and the sewn products industry to join us for live events in 2021 and to continue to provide the learning and networking opportunities our industry deserves,” said Michael McDonald, president of SPESA. “Our two cornerstone events are the SPESA Executive Conference and the Advancements in Manufacturing Technologies Conference.”
First up is the SPESA Advancements Manufacturing Technologies Conference on Aug. 24 in Raleigh, N.C., offering members an opportunity to share their latest products, innovations and ideas with potential customers. This event will once again be co-located with the Techtextil North America trade show.
The Advancements Conference is meant for sewn products manufacturers. Speakers will touch on fashion, apparel, automotive, interior design, furniture upholstery and technical textiles.
Techtextil North America takes place for three days on Aug. 23-25 in Raleigh. This year’s show will feature the first Texprocess Americas Pavilion, supported by SPESA. featuring machinery, equipment and technology suppliers. The pavilion is designed to foster new business opportunities between exhibitors and attendees.
Utilizing partnerships with academic programs, research institutions and industry associations, Techtextil North America has cultivated an environment that encourages innovation through the sharing of ideas and collaboration among industry leaders. With hundreds of exhibiting companies and pavilions representing top contributors to the global textile industry, visitors and exhibitors gain exposure to new business opportunities and potential partnerships. The product groups at Techtextil North America represent the entire value-added chain in the technical textiles and nonwovens sectors.
The symposium gives attendees the chance to listen and learn from industry leaders and subject matter experts as they discuss key advancements in research and technology, and shed light on the global economic state and its effects across industries. The show’s theme this year is “Accelerating Technology” and aims to highlight the textile industry’s high level of innovation and contribution to the global supply chain through advanced technology.
The Lab will return in 2021 featuring mini sessions on textile testing and standards.
Participation in The Lab gives visitors the chance to experience textile testing first hand and educate themselves on the latest in industry standards.
The SPESA Executive Conference is set for Oct. 27-28 at the Omni Parker House in Boston. The conference offers networking, education and a platform for SPESA members, their customers and industry experts to discuss the current issues, trends and policies impacting the global sewn products industry.
Texprocess Americas, co-produced by SPESA, is planned for May 17-19 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Texprocess Americas creates an opportunity for retail, brand and manufacturing professionals involved in the sewn products industry to meet with leading international manufacturers and distributors of machinery, equipment, parts, supplies, systems, technology, supply chain solutions, and other products and services used for the development of sewn products.
“We have intentionally kept registration fees for both events as low as possible this year to ensure they are accessible to anyone interested in learning more about the sewn products industry,” McDonald said.
