SPESA Member Benefits

It is our mission at SPESA to provide members with the highest quality networking, education, and advocacy for advancing their businesses within and beyond the global sewn products industry.

Tailored Resources

SPESA membership is intentionally limited to suppliers to the sewn products industry. It is a platform for members to discuss the challenges, opportunities, and best practices that impact their day-to-day business with peers who are in the same position.

We know that many of our members are also members of other organizations that include their customers, and we encourage them to take advantage of every opportunity that comes along. But we also know the importance of having resources and education that are catered specifically for the supplier.

In addition to the benefits listed below, SPESA members receive information via email on tariffs, legislation, procurement opportunities, and other topics directly related to their business. We can also help research any questions they may have about the industry or connect them with the right person, business, or government agency to find the answers they need.

Voice of the Industry

While we are not a lobbying organization, SPESA purposefully and enthusiastically engages in activities that advance the interests of its members, the association, and the sewn products industry. We work together with other organizations around the world and through our contacts in the U.S. Government to help protect and promote the sewn products industry.

We strongly believe in joining forces with other trade associations and industry groups to support our common goals. SPESA has forged alliances with Messe Frankfurt, VDMA (the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association), Industrial Fabrics Association International, American Apparel & Footwear Association, Japan Sewing Machinery Manufacturers Association, Nicaraguan Association of Textile and Apparel Industry, China Sewing Machinery Association, International Apparel Federation, American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, SEAMS, and many others. These strategic alliances help us to increase market coverage for our members and stay up-to-date on global trends and policies.

Trade Shows

Texprocess Americas

Every two years, SPESA co-produces Texprocess Americas, the largest and best sewn products and technology trade show in the Americas. The event creates an opportunity for producers of sewn products to meet with leading international manufacturers and distributors of machinery, equipment, parts, supplies, systems, technology, supply chain solutions, and other products and services used for the development, manufacture, or distribution of sewn products. The show also provides valuable educational and networking sessions, including the spectacular SPESA Opening Night Reception.

SPESA members receive a discount and priority access to Texprocess Americas exhibit space.

International Trade Shows

SPESA attends several international trade shows throughout the year to keep track of trends and advancements in the industry and to promote our members in international markets. Members who can’t attend shows in person are encouraged to utilize SPESA as a proxy to share materials, look for buyers, etc. In some cases, at Colombiatex for example, members have the opportunity to exhibit within the SPESA booth. This allows members to have a significant presence at various shows with a much smaller financial commitment.

Our main goal, in everything we do, is to help our members get what they need to meet customers and expand their business both domestically and globally.

SPESA Events & Education

We believe that gathering with others is key to learning, growing, and improving the sewn products industry. This is why SPESA hosts a series of can't-miss events each year. The events range from casual free-to-attend happy hours in major markets across the U.S., to virtual symposiums, to major full-day and multi-day professional development programs.

Our two key events each year are the annual Executive Conference and Advancements in Manufacturing Technologies Conference. These events are designed to bring industry professionals together for quality networking and educational opportunities. The events, hosted in different cities, also include fun and memorable experiences that celebrate the local destination.

SPESA members receive discounted registration for most SPESA events. However, we know that being in the same room as your customers is just as important as growing your own industry knowledge. So, SPESA members are also assigned custom discount codes they can share with their customers for most SPESA events.

Member Directory

SPESA members represent some of the leading voices from across the sewn products industry. That's why we want to ensure each SPESA member is published a public directory for others across the industry to access their information. The SPESA directory has been a valuable tool for both members and their customers. Each directory entry includes information about the SPESA member, their location, plus the best contacts within the organization.
