2023 SPESA Executive Conference

Event Information

We look forward to welcoming all of our attendees to the 2023 SPESA Executive Conference in San Juan! Please see below for a few important details and reminders.

 

Conference Agenda and Materials

To help us be a bit for environmentally conscious, we will not be printing agendas for this conference. Everything you need will be available on the SPESA website, accessible through the following links:

 

Registration

All attendees must be registered to attend this event, including any spouses or guests who may be joining for the evening receptions. If you know of anyone who still needs to register, please direct them here.

Conference Start Time

The conference will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30th. However, we have added a casual lunch to the agenda beginning at 12:00 p.m. Please feel free to come by between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to pick up your conference name badge and grab a quick bite to eat before our educational sessions begin.

 

Where to Meet

The conference will be in Las Olas on the second floor of the Caribe Hilton’s Beach Wing. 

  • All of the panels and presentations will take place in Las Olas.

  • Lunch on Thursday and breakfast on Friday will be available on Las Olas Terrace, accessed through Las Olas.

  • Weather permitting, the Thursday night reception will take place outside in the Hammock Garden.

  • For our offsite events (tours and closing reception on Friday), we will meet in the lobby.

What to Wear

  • Conference: Dress for this event is business casual. (Although feel free to add a little Caribbean flair if you feel like it!) Please note, the Thursday reception will be outside on grass and sand, so we would advise against wearing heels for that event.

  • Factory Tours: For those of you attending the factory tours on Friday, please wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothes. We will be taking a bus to get there, and we are told the production floor may be warm.

  • Closing Reception: Attendees often change into cocktail attire for the closing reception. However, if you don’t feel like dressing up after being on a bus all day, that’s ok! Please wear whatever puts you in the best mood to network and make friends!

Getting Around

The Caribe Hilton is a short 15-minute drive from the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in San Juan. We suggest attendees flying in to San Juan take a taxi or Uber from the airport to the hotel. It should also be easy for attendees to get a taxi or Uber at the hotel if you want to explore San Juan during your down time. The Caribe Hilton is located between historic Old San Juan and the lively Condado neighborhood.

 

SPESA will provide transportation for our off-site events.

 

Health & Safety

  • Masks are not required at this week’s events for vaccinated attendees. However, attendees are welcome to wear masks based on your own comfort level. We ask all attendees to be kind and courteous to one another at all times.

  • Please do not attend the conference or evening events if you are ill or have recently tested positive for Covid-19.
